Summertime in Chicago is peak patio season, and there are so many great bars and restaurants to explore. If you're ready to enjoy the warm weather but don't want to leave Buddy at home, don't fret! Luckily, Chi-town is consistently rated one of the most dog-friendly cities in the country. Take a look at some of our favorite Chicago patios that welcome dogs or offer dog-friendly menu items:
Park & Field
This Logan Square, fur babe-friendly patio is expansive and fun for humans and pets alike! Grab a burger and let your pup explore.
The Kennison
Lincoln Park’s the Kennison has a gorgeous outdoor space that welcomes both people and their pets. Hydration is important, and rumor has it that your dog will get his or her own dog bowl while they peruse the patio. They even have PB and bacon-flavored pup ice cream for purchase!
Recess
Recess’s claim to fame is that it has the largest outdoor patio in Chicago. That’s 14,000 sq ft of dog-friendly goodness! Keep your eyes peeled for artificial turf, perfect for frolicking with your furry friends.
Barrio
Barrio is a personal favorite of mine. You don’t have to leave your pup at home to enjoy their tasty tacos and mouthwatering margaritas. Don’t forget to order some dairy-free ice cream for your canine companion to beat that Chicago heat!
Siena Tavern
Like Barrio, sister restaurant Siena Tavern offers a dog menu – Puppy Ciao. Even better, a portion of the proceeds go to PAWS Chicago - an animal shelter and non-profit organization. Hungry pups will love a sunny afternoon on this patio.
Bombobar
Donut lovers rejoice – popular sweet spot Bombobar now offers doggy donuts! Order a dozen bombolini and enjoy them outside while your pet socializes.
Ludlow Liquors
Ludlow Liquors has an adorable back garden patio that gladly welcomes dogs of all sizes. Summer is the perfect season to reserve a picnic table at this popular Logan Square spot and grab a drink with friends.
