Canine cosplay: Dogs impersonating their favorite characters

Canine cosplay: Doggy impersonators

Dressing up as your fictional idol or favorite superhero isn’t just for humans; your pups can join in too. Dogs love movies just as much as we do. My childhood dog was entranced every time I watched 101 Dalmatians as a kid—but it seemed somehow blasphemous to dress up a border collie mix as a Dalmatian. Enjoy these wonderful pups personifying some notable characters and cosplaying their hearts out!

Pug of the Rings. It’s an even longer quest to Mordor with extra stops for belly rubs and treats.

Mary Puppins. Who needs a spoonful of sugar when you’ve got that cute face looking up at you?

Dogthy and the Cowardly Lion. On their way to see the wonderful wizard of paws and defeat a wicked witch or two while they’re at it.

Lableficent. Terrifing-ly cute.

The Little Corgmaid. Flippin' your fins you don't get too far / Legs are required for jumpin', dancin' / Rollin’ around in the...mud.

Harry Pupper. A loyal Gryffindog is brave and ready to defeat the evilest witch, wizard, or cat that comes across his path.

Husky Krueger. Why are you screaming? You haven’t even pet me yet.

Super Corgio Brothers. It’s a me, Corgio!

Black (Labrador) Widow. “I’m always picking up after you boys."

Mark Carrott Odden is a project manager and freelance designer/photographer with an overt obsession with dogs—particularly Great Danes and Newfoundlands. His childhood dog, a rescued border collie mix, shared the same tinge-of-the-ginger hair color as his family, so it was meant to be. His affinity for puns and stringent grammarista tendencies help bring levity to the internet because there is always time to watch one more cat video.
