Provo is a mountain surrounded area in the beautiful state of Utah. Those who crave outdoor recreation, combined with cool city life, migrate here for vacation, or to attain a prestigious educational degree. While the area is not as advanced in its dog amenities and offerings, as say, San Diego or Saint Louis, things are gradually changing and becoming more suitable for our fur babies.
Solid Sleep Solutions
Most of the pet friendly hotels in Provo are chain hotels, offering all the basics required for a top notch experience. In Orem, just a few minutes away, are even more options.
Sleep Inn Provo--Sleep Inn Provo provides those expected hotel comforts, and a large indoor pool. Dog fees are only $10, which is drastically cheaper than many deposits.
Sundance Mountain Resort--Sundance, Robert Redford’s piece of Utah Heaven, which also hosts a particularly famous film festival, also features a mountain resort. It’s as cozy and luxurious as one would expect, and we think dogs will appreciate the abundance of designated grassy spaces. Sundance is just outside of Provo, and worth a visit when in the area.
Hampton Inn Provo—The hotel chain staple would be number one in our opinion when it comes to pet friendly lodging in Provo. Both cats and dogs are welcome—two furry ones can come along at no additional cost. There’s also an indoor pool available here.
Indulgent Comfort Foods Await
The food scene is Provo has a nice balance between independent gems and classic chain stops. Going out for a bite to eat with four legged friends doesn’t present too many challenges.
Noodles and Company—As the name would suggest, guests can get awesome noodle based dishes at this fun eatery, from Italian to Asian flavors. Gluten free items are abundant as well. Come slurp some goodness at the dog friendly tables!
Bruges Waffles and Frites--Bruges Waffles and Frites is ready to cure your most indulgent cravings. A variety of mouthwatering waffles topped with unexpected ingredients are met with burgers with an over the top theme. The fun eatery is a great place to bring dogs.
Enliten Bakery--We all need that great café in an area, where we can get rich espressos, artisan sandwiches and one heck of a dessert. Well this is that place, and there are more than a handful of tables where dogs can hang.

Just Hang Out and Have Fun
Being a mountainous area, Provo features a lot of awesome hikes and trails that dogs would likely love. But parks are beginning to take on popularity as the city’s dog friendly environment grows.
Provo River Parkway--Provo River Parkway is part of the Rails to Trails program, so formerly trains once traversed this route. Now you and your best friend can hit the pathway for a lovely stroll through the city.
Dayland Dog Park—The most notable and awesome feature at this park is the pond with zero entry so pups can cool off! Pet parents will also find plenty of seating, and sectioned off areas to keep bigger and smaller dogs in their own, safer, environments. Enjoy walking the trails as well!
Bicentennial Dog Park—While being Provo’s more basic spot to stretch pup legs, the park is off leash with plenty of grass. Pet waste stations add convenience to clean up, so this a good option for a quick break.

Provo would certainly be considered “up and coming” for premium pup travel. Right now is a good time to travel here with dogs, but in the future, we expect to see it go from “convenient and easy”, to a downright pleasure. Provo is on the path to becoming that next great pet destination.
