Is pet insurance worth the cost?
The advancement in pet medical care and the rising demand for treatment poses a financial challenge for loving pet parents. Large veterinarian hospitals and specialty clinics provide a range of advanced treatment options—everything from neurological services to orthopedic surgery—but it can come at a steep price.
Enter pet insurance. Pet insurance provides coverage for unexpected injuries and illnesses. For a small monthly premium, pet parents are empowered to make care-based rather than cost-based health care decisions.
Our pet insurance plans may provide up to 100% reimbursement for covered medical expenses

Figo has been a literal life saver and enhancer for my dog with irritable bowel disease. Because of his policy, we have been able to seek treatment from some of the best vets out there--including internal medicine specialists and a pet nutritionist. We have since been able to manage his symptoms effectively. Don't know if we would be where we are today without the support of his medical team, which has only been financially possible because of Figo. I wish my own health insurance was as good as my dog's! ”

Why does my dog or cat need a health insurance plan?
We believe the best medical care for our pets should be an automatic "yes" and without hesitation. Did you know:
1 in 3 pets need emergency vet treatment each year.
More veterinary specialists and advanced treatments are available today.
Advanced pet medical care often costs thousands of dollars.
More pets are being saved by advanced healthcare treatments, and that care can be quite costly. And self-insuring is risky because you need enough time to save and build up a pet fund—but what happens if your pet gets sick before you are able to save enough money? For example, your new puppy may eat a sock next month, requiring $3,000 in veterinary care. The unexpected nature of such injuries and illnesses may find you with little-to-no savings to cover necessary treatment expenses. Pet medical insurance is peace of mind for those unexpected pet injuries and illnesses.
Pet insurance can make a huge difference in the lives of you and your pet. We believe everyone should have it, even if it’s not from us.

Things You Need to Know
We know pet insurance can be confusing. Here are a few things to keep in mind.
Veterinary Exam Fees (Optional)
Believe it or not, some carriers won't pay your veterinary examination or consultation fees related to a covered illness or injury. We provide you the optional coverage for these fees.
Like other pet insurance companies, we exclude pre-existing conditions. Those are conditions that first occurred or showed clinical signs before your pet's coverage started or during the waiting periods.
Co-Pay & Reimbursement
These terms can be confusing. The co-pay is the amount you pay, and the reimbursement is the amount Figo pays. You can choose from various reimbursement options with your plan.
Some companies require you to pay a deductible per each illness or injury. They call it Per Condition; we call it Not Cool. With Figo, once you meet your one annual deductible, you're done for the year.
These vary widely between companies. Figo plans may include an accident, illness, and knee waiting period. All waiting periods begins the day after enrollment or the day you select as your policy effective date.
Here's the deal: If your pet has a new covered accident, injury or illness, you may be reimbursed for the following medical expenses.
Exam & Consultation Fees (optional)
Emergency & Hospitalization
Hereditary & Congenital Conditions
Prosthetics & Orthopedics
What's Not Covered
Here’s the other deal: At Figo, we have nothing to hide. We think it is just as important to show you what isn't covered.
Routine, Wellness or Preventative Care
Spaying or Neutering
Breeding, Pregnancy or Giving Birth
Cloned Pets or Cloning Procedures
Coprophagia (the medical term for "eating poop")
Comprehensive Pet Insurance Coverage
We designed our pet insurance plans to be straightforward and simple—so you can spend less time choosing and more time with your pet.
