Scarf'd: Quick & Easy Peanut Butter Dog Donuts

As shocking as it may be, fall is already upon us. This special season brings with it chilly nights, apple picking, and all the variations of pumpkin spice goodness one could imagine. If you want to let your dog in on the fun, the easiest (and most delicious) way to do so is to whip up some autumn-themed treats. We're nutty for these quick and easy peanut butter dog donuts.

Scarf’d DIY simple pet recipes are easy-to-make and dog-approved. Crafted in our office test kitchen with the help (and appetites) of our beloved Figo dogs. Not only are these donuts delicious, but we were easily able to pick up all the ingredients on our last Costco run. The next time you head to the cider mill for some treats of your own, make sure these are on hand for your pups.

Peanut Butter Dog Donuts

Ingredients

Donuts:

• 1 cup mashed bananas, (about 2 ripe large bananas)

• ¼ cup creamy peanut butter

• ¼ cup Kirkland organic virgin coconut oil, melted

• 2 tbs Kirkland signature organic raw honey

• 1 large egg, room temperature

• 1 cup whole wheat flour

• ½ tsp baking soda

Frosting:

• 8-ounce block of cream cheese

• ½ cup natural creamy peanut butter

Preheat your oven to 350° F. Grease two 6-cup donut tins with coconut oil. Set aside.

In a bowl, combine mashed bananas, peanut butter, coconut oil, and honey. Mix well. Add egg and beat till fully incorporated. Stir in flour and baking soda until combined.

Transfer batter to prepared donut tins and bake at 350° F for 15 to 20 minutes. While your donuts cool for a few minutes in the pan, combine your 8 oz block of cream cheese with 1/2 cup natural creamy peanut butter in a bowl and beat until creamy and blended.
