By: Lizz Caputo

Pet parents visiting Chicago or just looking for a staycation in the city know that it can be a struggle to find pet-friendly hotels and accommodations. Figo has compiled a list of our top ten favorite dog-friendly hotels in Chicago.

Figo's 10 Favorite Pet-Friendly Chicago Hotels

If you're a pet parent on the move, you know the struggle between taking your dog with you and leaving them at home. It can be difficult to find a hotel that is welcoming to both humans and animals alike! Luckily, Chicago is quite a dog-friendly city, and there are several great spots that let you bring your furry friends. We've compiled Figo's top pet-friendly Chicago hotel picks, so you never have to leave your companion home alone. Take a look:

1. The Ace Hotel

Hotel lobby of Ace Hotel in Chicago

The Ace Hotel is a great spot for travelers, whether they're visiting the Windy City or just treating themselves to a staycation. Located in the foodie-friendly Fulton Market District, it's surrounded by some of Chi's top restaurants (many of which are dog-friendly).

The deets: Bring up to two four-legged friends for a $50 upcharge. Great Dane or zebra in tow? "Just get in touch if you have something stranger or larger and we'll try to make it work." Book your stay

2. The Hoxton Chicago

Trendy room with bed at the Hoxton Chicago hotel

The Hoxton is a popular choice for people visiting the city. Not only does it boast a stunningly decorated interior, but it's home to three beloved restaurants - Cabra, Cira, and Lazy Bird. Even the pickiest pup will be impressed by the trendy rooms and great Fulton Market location.

The deets: There's no charge to bring a canine companion along - though you may want to confirm that when you make your reservation. Don't just take our word for it either, this review says it all: "I love how much natural light lets into the room, the view, and that my dog was able to effortlessly accompany me." Book your stay

3. Virgin Hotels Chicago

Hotel bed with dogs and room service food on top at Virgin Hotels in Chicago

Virgin Hotels Chicago goes above and beyond for our four-legged friends. Not only do they provide canine guests with their own dog bowls, treats, a bandana, and a bed, but they also allow cats, which is rare even among pet-friendly accommodations. Located in the bustling Loop, you'll never run out of things to do while staying at this hotel.

The deets:Like the Hoxton, Virgin Hotels require no extra charge to bring your pets along. Better yet, there are no breed or size restrictions, which is great if you're traveling with a bully breed or Clifford the Big Red Dog. Keep in mind, you may have to walk a bit to find some grassy spots by the river. Green spaces are few and far between in Chicago's busy downtown. Book your stay

4. The Talbott Hotel

If you're hoping to stay slightly North of downtown and have a doggie in tow, the Talbott Hotel may be the spot for you. Located in beautiful Gold Coast, it's been named one of the "Best Boutique Hotels in the City" by Forbes. There are even several dog parks in the area, a big plus for pet parents with active pups.

The deets: Two dogs of any size are welcome to stay at no additional charge. We love that the hotel even has a searchable dog-friendly map on their site, showing off their favorite spots in the area. Book your stay

5. Viceroy Chicago

Another popular Gold Coast pick, the Viceroy claims to take VIPs (very important pets) very seriously. We love this hotel because it offers a dog-walking service, arranged through concierge. That makes this spot perfect for the hectic business traveler. They even have a stunning rooftop lounge and bar with craft cocktails for after the pups have been tucked in for bed.

The deets:The Viceroy offers a luxury stay for your pets, with dog bed, bowls, and plush toys depending on availability. They do have a nightly pet charge of $50, but a portion is donated to a Chicago-based rescue that helps homeless pets. There is a weight limit of 25 lbs, so pet parents of big dogs should note that their canines may not be welcome. Book your stay
